Restaurant Exterior Remodel for Texas Roadhouse in Panama City Beach, FL

VMC Facilities, LLC completed a restaurant exterior remodel for Texas Roadhouse in Panama City Beach, Florida. The project gave the restaurant a fresh exterior while improving the building’s roof and weather protection.

VMC managed the daily work and kept each trade moving forward. The project included roofing, siding, trim, exterior lighting, signs, painting, and repairs. Crews also updated key areas around the entrances, towers, loading dock, waiting area, delivery area, and dumpster enclosure.

Work began with the removal of the old metal roofing, gutters, downspouts, cedar siding, and trim. The sign crew also removed the Texas Roadhouse signs and neon lights. This first step gave the team access to the materials below the old exterior.

Repairing and Protecting the Building

During removal, the team found damaged sheathing in several areas. These areas included the loading dock, both scuppers, the tall wall, and the rear emergency exit. Crews replaced the damaged materials before they installed the new exterior. 

Next, roofers installed new ice-and-water shield and flashing. These materials help protect a building from rain and water damage. The roof and flashing inspection passed on March 4, 2026. In addition, the field team reported that the building was watertight on March 5. 

The roofing team then installed new metal panels on the main roof and towers. They also completed the hips, valleys, ridge caps, and roof edges. Finally, crews added new gutters, hangers, and downspouts.

Installing New Siding and Trim

The carpentry team installed a new weather barrier across the exterior walls. The team taped the seams and prepared the walls for new siding. The weather-barrier inspection passed on March 6.

After that, crews installed siding panels, lap siding, fascia, soffits, louvers, trim, and parapet coping. They worked around the front entrance, waiting area, loading dock, delivery area, towers, and gable ends. They also added flashing and trim around exterior windows and doors.

At the same time, painters refreshed the trim, doors, window frames, gutters, downspouts, gates, and block walls. Crews sealed the new work with caulk and completed final paint touch-ups. As a result, the new materials created a clean and consistent look across the building.

Updating Lighting and Restaurant Signs

Exterior lighting played an important role in the renovation. Crews installed can lights around the building. They also added gooseneck lights and uplights on the towers. The team created the required openings within the new soffit and fascia panels. 

Next, the sign team installed the main Texas Roadhouse sign on the front of the restaurant. They also installed a Texas hat sign on the tall wall, entry signs, and rope lighting. These features restored the restaurant’s familiar brand and improved its street view. 

Completing the Final Details

The project included several smaller improvements. Crews completed repairs near the hostess area and installed new benches and fans. They also worked on the delivery-room ceiling and put shelving and cameras back in place. 

As construction entered its final stage, teams finished the roof metal, exterior paint, caulking, and signs. They also replaced damaged metal near the outside seating area. Then, they cleaned the site and prepared equipment for pickup. 

The project passed its final inspection on March 20, 2026. After the inspection, the team removed the remaining equipment and materials.

The finish gave Texas Roadhouse an updated and well-protected exterior. New roofing, siding, trim, lighting, paint, and signs came together to create a complete transformation. Through close trade coordination and steady field management, VMC Facilities moved the work from removal and repair to final approval.
