Bubba’s 33 – Northfield, CO Restaurant Conversion

VMC Facilities is transforming a former Red Lobster in Northfield, Colorado, into a new Bubba’s 33, bringing the brand’s high-energy restaurant concept to an existing commercial space in Denver. Located at 8268 E. Northfield Boulevard, the project represents an extensive restaurant conversion requiring careful coordination of demolition, new construction, building systems, specialty finishes, and brand-specific elements.

The project began with pre-construction coordination among VMC Facilities, subcontractors, and key suppliers to establish schedules, identify critical-path activities, and prepare the former restaurant for its transformation. Selective demolition and sawcutting opened the existing building for new layouts and infrastructure, followed by coordinated plumbing, electrical, roofing, insulation, fire protection, and exterior work.

As construction progressed, crews worked throughout the building to adapt existing conditions to the new Bubba’s 33 design. Work included modifications to mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing installations, insulation, fireproofing preparation, stucco and exterior improvements, along with specialty architectural finishes. Interior buildout activities included ceiling and wall preparation, fire taping, door and hardware installation, and reinstallation of the stainless-steel bar top as the restaurant began taking on its finished appearance.

Throughout the project, VMC Facilities coordinated multiple specialty contractors and suppliers while supervising daily site activities and advancing work through required inspection milestones. Documented approvals included mechanical, gas-line, plumbing, fire-sprinkler, and overhead hard-lid inspections. This coordination helped move the project into its final completion phase while maintaining focus on quality, functionality, and the many technical details involved in a modern restaurant build-out.

The Bubba’s 33 Northfield project demonstrates VMC Facilities’ ability to manage a complex restaurant renovation and conversion involving building infrastructure, commercial food-service systems, specialty technology, architectural finishes, and coordinated field execution. From kitchen and bar installations to customer-facing finishes, VMC supported the integration of the project’s many moving parts into a cohesive restaurant environment.

Once complete, the former Red Lobster will have been fully reimagined as Bubba’s 33, featuring the brand’s distinctive restaurant environment and creating a new dining destination within Denver’s Northfield community.
