VMC Facilities is proud to partner with Texas Roadhouse in Lafayette, Louisiana, on a comprehensive FOH Remodel designed to enhance accessibility and guest comfort. With an existing seating capacity of 281, ADA compliance requires 5% of those seats—equal to 15 seats—to be fully accessible for guests with disabilities. This remodel is centered around achieving that requirement while preserving the welcoming, energetic atmosphere Texas Roadhouse is known for.
Key upgrades include replacing certain booths with chairs at ground level, eliminating risers to allow smooth wheelchair access. Clearances are being carefully maintained to meet ADA standards, such as 30 inches between booths and a 17-inch clearance under bar tops. Bar seating itself will also be adjusted to a maximum height of 34 inches above finished floor (AFF), ensuring it meets accessibility standards while still delivering the lively dining experience guests enjoy.
Furthermore, to accommodate varying guest needs, select two-top tables will be replaced with four-top tables, with bases positioned to allow wheelchair users comfortable seating access. Additionally, low walls & risers in key areas—including sections of the 100’s and 300’s—are being removed to improve circulation and meet accessibility requirements. A minimum 60-inch walkway is being maintained in critical zones, ensuring smooth, barrier-free movement throughout the restaurant.
By the end of this project, the Lafayette Texas Roadhouse will provide 15 ADA-compliant seats, aligning with the 5% seating requirement for its 281-seat capacity. This remodel reflects not only compliance but also the brand’s dedication to inclusivity, ensuring every guest enjoys the legendary Texas Roadhouse experience.
