VMC Facilities is proud to launch another cooler addition project, this time in Lakewood, FL, where we are adding a 328-square-foot cooler at the rear of an existing restaurant. This expansion is designed to enhance storage capacity and operational efficiency while maintaining the restaurant’s overall aesthetic and structural integrity.
The scope of work includes creating precise openings in the rear wall to accommodate the new cooler. Our demolition team is carefully removing sections of existing brick, plywood, and insulation before preparing new framing and slab foundations in accordance with structural and civil engineering drawings. Earthwork is being reshaped to support the foundation, and the existing gate and fencing will be temporarily removed and reinstalled once construction is complete.
Inside the cooler, recycled rubber flooring and vinyl flooring will be installed to ensure smooth, durable, and sanitary transitions. On the exterior, the cooler will be seamlessly blended with the building’s architecture by applying brick and cedar siding, complete with thin-brick skin patterns, roof flashing, gutters, and downspouts that match the existing fascia and trim. A fully adhered single-ply roofing membrane with tapered insulation will provide durability and water management.
The mechanical scope includes ceiling-mounted lighting fixtures, plumbing connections with condensate drains and heat tape, and complete electrical rough-ins and final hookups for lighting and refrigeration equipment. Finishes will feature fiberglass reinforced wall panels, caulking, painting, and protective measures to restore and preserve adjacent areas not within the scope.
From demolition to final finishes, this project demonstrates VMC’s expertise in restaurant construction, cooler additions, and structural integration, ensuring compliance with permitting, inspections, and client expectations every step of the way.
