Restaurant Renovation and Outdoor Dining Expansion

In Laredo, Texas, VMC took on a bold restaurant renovation for Bubba’s 33, completely rebuilding a one-story structure into a vibrant dining destination. This project transformed an aging shell into a 6,833 sq ft interior space with an added 1,114 sq ft of outdoor dining. We handled everything—demolition, construction, and finish work—to deliver a fully modern and code-compliant facility.

From the start, the site needed significant upgrades. Our team removed outdated walls, finishes, and fixtures. Then, we built new storefronts, added energy-efficient windows and doors, and installed fresh brick veneer, metal panels, and cedar siding to bring the exterior to life.

Inside, we installed new HVAC rooftop units, kitchen exhaust hoods, and duct systems to keep the air moving and the kitchen cool. Our plumbing crew laid down gas lines, water systems, and grease recovery connections to meet the needs of a high-volume restaurant. For electrical, we upgraded panels, added lighting, and ran conduit for data and fire alarm systems—fully monitored and addressable.

This restaurant remodel also focused on customer comfort and accessibility. We created ADA-compliant restrooms and provided accessible seating throughout the dining areas.

We coordinated closely across all trades—architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing—to ensure nothing slipped through the cracks. The restaurant transformation also included new signage, fresh finishes, and kitchen/bar equipment installation, right down to the walk-in cooler.

Every step met the 2021 International Building, Fire, Mechanical, and Accessibility Codes. We didn’t just renovate a restaurant—we delivered a fully updated, safe, and stylish space that’s ready for guests.
