VMC Facilities recently completed an exciting restaurant conversion project in Jacksonville, North Carolina—transforming a former Buffalo Wild Wings into a brand-new Bubba’s 33 location. This full-scope remodel included extensive interior demolition, structural modifications, and the full installation of kitchen equipment, dining room furniture, and lighting to meet Bubba’s 33 brand standards.
Over the course of 20 weeks, the VMC team worked through phased renovations that included modifying the building’s exterior elevations, upgrading utility infrastructure, updating the dining and bar layouts, and installing a new commercial kitchen. While the structure remained, nearly every interior finish and fixture was refreshed or replaced, allowing the space to be completely reimagined for a new restaurant experience.
Final inspections and Certificate of Occupancy were completed just before Labor Day weekend, giving the new Bubba’s team time to move in and begin training. Our crews completed the last of the lighting installs and equipment hookups during turnover week—ensuring every detail was ready ahead of schedule.
This conversion is a great example of how VMC Facilities supports clients through adaptive reuse and restaurant brand transformations, offering cost-effective solutions without sacrificing quality or timeline. We’re proud to have helped bring this concept to life in Jacksonville and are excited to announce that Bubba’s 33 officially opens to the public on September 8.
Congratulations to the Bubba’s team—and hats off to everyone who had a hand in this successful restaurant renovation!
