This room addition project in Pelham, Alabama expanded the restaurant’s dining space while maintaining the familiar look guests expect. The scope included upgrades inside and outside the building, with careful coordination to keep the new construction aligned with the existing layout and brand.

Work began with site preparation, including digging footings, grading, and setting up for a monolithic concrete pour. New curbs, sidewalks, and an ADA-accessible ramp were added to improve accessibility and guest circulation. Underground roof drains were installed early to support proper drainage. After the footing and slab were poured and anchor bolts were set, framing started for the exterior walls, roof structure, and overhangs.

Sheathing and Tyvek were installed to protect the perimeter of the new addition. Roofing work followed, including added rafters, roof curbs, ice and water shield, and full flashing at penetrations before metal roofing panels and gutters were installed. Exterior finishes were completed with brick, soldier courses, columns, siding, trim, soffits, and vents that tie the new space into the existing building.

Interior work focused on comfort and functionality. Insulation and drywall were installed, along with cedar ceiling and wall features that complement the dining area. Existing windows were relocated, new openings were created, and glass was installed to maintain visual flow. Electrical, HVAC, and fire protection systems were extended into the addition, including lighting, ductwork, sensors, sprinklers, and controls. The HVAC system was connected, charged, and tested for performance.

Final work included installing millwork, booths, and tabletops, adding ADA signage, murals, and flooring base, and completing door hardware and painting. Landscaping was adjusted, final concrete areas were poured, and the site was fully cleaned. With sound systems installed and all systems operational, the Pelham room addition is complete and ready to serve guests.
